Never did I feel unsafe at UNC Charlotte. She will only become stronger. Students will only become closer. Our community becomes more connected. Recently, I created a video for my classmates, hoping to bring about comfort and peace. My son is a senior at UNC Charlotte. My prayers are with the families and friends of Riley Howell and Reed Parlier, and for the students who were injured. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

Words cannot express what happened, but we shouldn’t let those that have burdened us win. Charlotte Strong and Niners even stronger. Let us move forward together and allow this heinous event to bring us even closer together and give us the ability to love one another even more.

We as Niners are deeply saddened by our loss, and we will cherish Reed and Riley’s memories. Niners Strong!!!
