It was one of the strangest/worst days of my life. As an RA I, like many employees and student leaders, have had ALICE training. However, nothing you train for can prepare you for something like this. I am an alumni from the class of 2014 and I love UNC Charlotte so much I came back to finish my second degree. This school has always felt like home to me and made me the person I am today. This hit too close to home for me and being locked down in Woodward Hall for 3 hours, not knowing how to help, was the worst part. I still do not know what I can do. Since that day, I have been unable to think about anything other than Riley, Reed and everyone that had been hurt both physically and mentally. Riley was my resident and Reed was a Computer Science major like me. Both had everything in front of them. Right now, for many of us, the world does not make sense but I hope that each of us can find our on way forward. We owe it to both of them to carry their memory with us forever. Never forget we are Charlotte Strong.
